ATV/UTV Slide On Wiring Instructions

Tools needed for installation:
Electric drill with 15/32” drill bit, wire stripper and crimper, heat gun.

Parts included:
1- red, black and white wire harness,
1- switch
1 - rubber light switch boot
1 - ring terminals
1 - female bullet connectors
1 - male bullet connectors
5 - wire ties


1.
Slide Back-up Buddy onto your 2” hitch and put hitch back into receiver

2. Remove Black and White Harness from bag and attach the 3 Way plug on the end of harness to the 3 Way plug on your Back-up Buddy unit. This will ensure the right placement and length of wire needed. You will run these wires at a later time.

3. Drill hole in ATV/UTV for the light switch , using a 15/32” drill bit. Placement of hole should be in place where it will not be accidentally turned on.
CAUTION:
Make sure there is nothing behind where you are drilling.

4. Remove rubber boot, nut and off/on plate from light switch, insert light switch in hole and replace off/on plate, nut and rubber boot.

5. Attach Red wire with ring terminal on the end to the positive terminal on your ATV/UTV Battery.

6. Run Red wire to your light switch, making sure they do not come in contact with any hot or moving parts, cut wire to desired length and attach supplied female bullet connector to the end of Red wire and plug into male bullet connector on light switch.

7. Run Black and White wires from the back of the ATV/UTV along frame, making sure they do not come in contact with any hot or moving parts. Attach wires to frame with supplied plastic wire ties. Run Black wire to the negative terminal on your battery, cut wire to desired length and attach ring terminal and attach to battery. Run White wire to the light switch, cut wire to desired length, attach supplied male bullet connector to end of White wire and plug into female bullet connector on light switch.

8. You are now ready to use your ATV/UTV Back-up Buddy unit.

CAUTIONS: This unit is not meant to be used while Aggressively Driving your ATV/UTV. Use only 10amp fuses.

ATV/UTV Strobe Wiring Instructions

Tools needed for installation:

2- red wires
1- Harness with (1) black wire and (2) white wires
2 - rubber boots for switches
1 - ring terminals
2 - female bullet connectors
2 - male bullet connectors
5 - wire ties

3. Drill two holes in ATV/UTV for the light switches , using a 15/32” drill bit. Placement of hole should be in place where it will not be accidentally turned on. CAUTION: Make sure there is nothing behind where you are drilling.

4. Remove rubber boots, nuts and off/on plates from light switches, insert light switches in holes and replace off/on plates, nuts and rubber boots.

5. Attach Red wires with ring terminals on the end to the positive terminal on your ATV/UTV Battery.

6. Run Red wires to your light switches, making sure they do not come in contact with any hot or moving parts, cut wires to desired length and attach supplied female bullet connectors to the end of Red wires and plug into male bullet connectors on light switches.

7. Run Black and White wires from the back of the ATV/UTV along frame, making sure they do not come in contact with any hot or moving parts. Attach wires to frame with supplied plastic wire ties. Run Black wire to the negative terminal on your battery, cut wire to desired length and attach ring terminal and attach to battery. Run White wires to the light switches, cut wires to desired length, attach supplied male bullet connectors to end of White wires and plug into female bullet connectors on light switches.

8. You are now ready to use your ATV/UTV Back-up Buddy unit.

Hardwiring Instructions for models GG304 and GG307

Tools needed:
Test Light, Philips head or Flat head Screwdriver (depending on vehicle), pliers, wire cutter, stripper and crimper.
Two people will be needed to complete this installation

1. Place vehicle parking brake on and put wheel chock blocks in the front and rear of rear wheel.

2. Remove left rear tail light assembly.

3. You will need to find the following wires – Back up wire and Parking light wire.
  1. Back-up wire - with key in on position (but engine not running and parking brake on) put vehicle in reverse - use a test light to find back up wire. When test light lights up, mark this wire as the back-up wire for future splicing.
  2. Parking light wire - With key in on position (but engine not running) and parking lights on - use a test light to find parking light wire, when test light lights up, mark this wire as the Parking light wire for future splicing

4. Shut off ignition.

5. Feed harness underneath vehicle into tail light assembly.

6. Using scotch blocks provided connect harness as marked to corresponding wires in tail light assembly (those will be the wires you previously marked).

7. Attach White ground wire from harness to frame of vehicle (may need to cut excess wire off to shorten length of white ground wire).

8. Re-assemble rear tail light.

9. Use the enclosed plastic wire ties to attach harness so it will not interfere with moving parts or hot exhaust.

10. Plug in and Go!

Hardwiring Instructions for model GG305

Tools needed:
Test Light, Philips head or Flat head Screwdriver (depending on vehicle), pliers, wire cutter, stripper and crimper.
Two people will be needed to complete this installation

1. Place vehicle parking brake on.

2. Remove left rear tail light assembly

3. You will need to find the following wires – Back up wire, Parking light wire and Brake light wire.

  1. Back-up wire - with key in on position (but engine not running and parking brake on) put vehicle in reverse - use a test light to find back up wire. When test light lights up, mark this wire as the back-up wire for future splicing.
  2. Parking light wire - With key in on position (but engine not running) and parking lights on - use a test light to find parking light wire, when test light lights up, mark this wire as the Parking light wire for future splicing.
  3. Brake light wire - With key in on position (but engine not running) apply brakes – use a test light to find the Brake light wire, when test light lights up, mark this wire as the Brake light wire for future splicing.

4. Shut off ignition.

5. Feed harness underneath vehicle into tail light assembly.

6. Using scotch blocks provided connect harness as marked to corresponding wires in tail light assembly (those will be the wires you previously marked).
